JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Mundford (Hybrid working offered)
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000 to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company based in Mundford. This role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies for a range of applications, working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to develop high-quality products.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Experience in mechanical design, preferably in manufacturing or special-purpose machinery
Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and machining processes
Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and BOMs
Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Good communication skills, both written and verbalThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
Producing 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation
Working closely with manufacturing and production teams to optimise designs
Conducting design reviews and modifications as needed
Ensuring designs comply with customer specifications and industry standards
