About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Property Services Inspector (Stock Condition Lead) to join an existing team of inspectors responsible for the standard of communal areas and appearance of Hightown properties.
The primary function of the role will be to complete stock condition surveys of the association's stock on a rolling programme.
To collect information on the condition of Hightown's individual properties and buildings, to establish its condition, repair needs, to identify health and safety issues and to ensure properties remain fit for purpose and continually meet the Decent Homes Standard (DHS).
To provide reports on stock condition assessments, including volume and related issues as defined by the Senior Surveyor.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Undertaking a programme of property stock condition surveys to assess the age and condition of each building element, ensuring that all of the Association’s properties are physically inspected within the stock condition programme.
Collecting property data and stock condition data and ensure that this information is promptly recorded on the Association’s property database, to ensure that robust, accurate and up to date information is held.
Undertaking a programme of Fire Risk Assessments to communal areas on a regular basis, identifying related issues and raising necessary works.
To post inspect works and exercise financial control and ensure that invoices are processed and passed for payment in accordance with financial regulations.
To pre inspect works to effectively investigate, identify and diagnose building defects and produce solutions by actioning remedial repairs and maintenance works. Produce specifications, schedules of works and drawings. This includes requests for aids and adaptations.

To apply for the role of Property Services Inspector you will need to have the following:
Knowledge or qualifications in a relevant sector, for example in building construction/surveying/building regulation
Experience of working with a Housing Association or Local Authority maintenance department
Ability to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis
A good general knowledge of IT, particularly Microsoft office packages
Excellent communication and customer care skills
All applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
