TeacherActive is pleased to assist a Chelmsford-based primary and secondary schools in hiring a SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The focus of the environment is on the growth of the students as well as their innate drive to advance academically and in their own emotional, social, and behavioural abilities.

The school is looking for a motivated team player to fill this temporary position, but for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant or SEND LSA, it might turn into a long-term one. A successful SEND Learning Support Assistant or LSA will contribute a fresh perspective and skill set to the position, be eager to learn new skills to meet the unique requirements of each child, and positively influence the school as a whole.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA will have:

Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
