Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to oversee the inspection of finished machined parts weighing up to 10 tons. The successful candidate will utilise various measuring equipment, including a Faro arm, to ensure all parts meet stringent specifications for size and finish. This role involves collaborating with team members across all levels of the organization and managing the calibration of measuring equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect finished machined parts for adherence to specifications, using a variety of measuring equipment, including a Faro arm.
• Ensure that all parts meet quality standards for size, finish, and overall integrity.
• Manage the calibration of on-site measuring equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Coordinate with external specialists for the calibration of equipment that cannot be done on-site.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with personnel from the shop floor to management, providing feedback on quality issues and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality control procedures.
• Train and mentor junior inspectors and shop floor personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, preferably in a precision machining environment.
• Proficient in using measuring equipment, particularly Faro arms and other related tools.
• Strong knowledge of quality control standards and practices within the machining industry.
• IT literate with experience in using quality management software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with all levels of personnel effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant quality inspection certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) are a plus.
