AA Euro Group are working with a leading specialist steelwork contractor known for delivering high-quality structural and architectural steel solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to join the team based on a large infrastructure project in the Birmingham area.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager in overseeing the daily operations of steelwork installation and assembly on-site. You’ll ensure projects meet quality standards, adhere to health and safety regulations, and are delivered on schedule. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational and leadership skills and a passion for delivering top-notch steelwork projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Site Manager in coordinating and supervising on-site activities, including installation, welding, and assembly of steel structures.
* Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure materials and resources are available to meet project timelines.
* Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
* Help manage the workforce on-site, allocating tasks, and ensuring high productivity and efficiency.
* Support in preparing and maintaining site documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and health and safety records.
* Assist in problem-solving issues that arise on-site, ensuring timely resolution with minimal impact on project timelines.
* Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and teamwork among all on-site personnel.
Requirements
* Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience in steelwork or structural installation on construction sites, with a strong understanding of industry standards and practices.
* Good knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction and steelwork.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, contractors, and clients.
* Proficiency in construction management software (desirable).
