Horizon Search & Selection are currently working with a manufacturing company based in Thetford who are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Professional to join their busy R&D/ Technical team. This is a very busy and responsible role which requires a candidate with some previous experience within a similar Regulatory role. This is a full-time, permanent role and the salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

The company

The company develop and manufacture cleaning products for their own brand products as well as other brand owners and also grocery own brand labels. Based in Thetford they boast one of Europe’s largest cleaning product facilities.

The role

Due to growth an opportunity has arisen for an experienced, knowledgeable and meticulous Regulatory Affairs Associate. Working as part of the busy R&D function within the company, you will be providing support to the Head of R&D and assist the team in New Product development, taking care of all of the associated technical documentation and making sure that the team are kept informed of any advice required in terms of product limitations etc. Ensuring the company is adhering to all relevant chemical regulations is very important and will come under the responsibility of the Regulatory Affairs Associate. Supporting customers is also a large part of this role making sure they too are kept fully informed throughout the process.

Responsibilities:

* Providing support to the Head of R&D

* Managing global consumable product labelling and safety data sheet information

* Supporting the creation and submission of regulatory applications for biocidal products, REACh and other associated regulations

* Administer global biocidal regulatory authorisations and renewals and any applications for exemptions etc. for REACh related work

* Reading, analysing and sifting through large regulatory texts to identify pertinent information

* Providing internal guidance on impact of regulations to proposed new and existing product technologies

* Knowledge and understanding of global biocidal product regulations, REACh, Detergents regulation, labelling (CLP) and MSDS

* Supporting the team with any compliance related activities

* Advocating company position on relevant regulatory topics

The Person

We are ideally seeking candidates who have previously worked in a similar role. A Degree qualified education would be preferred in a Chemical or Scientific subject. Someone who has experience in addressing Regulatory matters previously and a deep knowledge of dossier submission. Knowledge of COMAH, Detergent Regulations, Labelling and MSDS. A confident communicator who is adept and advising and guiding peers as well as customers. Previous experience in household or personal care would be highly desirable however, other similar industries such as Chemical manufacturing could also be required.

Skills and attributes included are:

* Demonstrable experience within either Regulatory Affairs or something similar

* Ability to communicate with internal team members and external at all levels

* Excellent attention to detail

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and a confident and professional telephone manner

* Ideally educated to Degree Level in a scientific subject

* Excellent MS Office Skills

* The ability to work in a past-paced environment within a cross-functional team

* Ideally some regulatory certifications/ accreditations would be advantageous
