Migrant Help are hosting an exciting and unique opportunity to recruit an Outreach Adviser. You will be joining us on a full time, 12 month fixed term contract, and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £28,639 increasing to £32,612 following successful completion of a 6 months probation period.
This is a home-based role covering London and surrounding areas.

The Outreach Adviser role:
The successful candidate will be client focused and an excellent listener, have demonstrable experience working with people in sensitive and emotionally demanding situations and be passionate about protecting our vulnerable clients.
The post holder will support our national Asylum Services to support our most vulnerable asylum seekers across the UK through a mixture of telephone and face to face advice. You will primarily provide day to day support for clients and partners in need of Outreach, ensuring that compliance with Home Office standards is met.
Key responsibilities of our Outreach Adviser:
Assisting clients with applications for Asylum Support and Move on Services
Signposting clients to specialised support where required
To manage a caseload offering appropriate support in a designated timeframe
Keep accurate and up-to-date case records, complete case follow ups within the requisite time scales and undertake any necessary administrative tasks
Ensure that their work meets overall quality standards and, where possible, exceeds it in line with Government and other Stakeholder contracted arrangements
Provide Advice and Guidance to Asylum Seekers as required
Provide signposting and make referrals to other services as appropriate
Assist clients, report any issues to accommodation providers and the Home Office to highlight any safeguarding concerns
Ensure the Outreach and Move on Manager is kept updated with any trends
Occasionally training or meetings are organised outside of normal working hours. The post-holder will be expected to attend whenever reasonably practicable
Undertake any other duties which may be assigned from time to time and may include cover for other funded projects.
Skills and experience we are looking for in our Outreach Adviser:
Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to communicate with diverse groups
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
Proven ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative whilst respecting boundaries
Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team as required
Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and databases; particularly in making and keeping accurate and timely records

The role is a homebased role, however the position will be covering the North East region and travel may sometimes be necessary and therefore flexibility is required
