The Fire Engineer Role

As a member of our team, you will undertake fire engineering projects, supporting design projects both within and outside the UK. Your role will include a mix of desktop and off-site activities, with supported client interaction. Key responsibilities include:

Producing fire strategy reports and relevant documentation
Managing fire safety aspects, including passive and active building systems, compartmentation, occupancy levels, and fire escape provisions
Reviewing architectural drawings for potential fire strategy risks and opportunities
Calculating evacuation times and performing computational evacuation modelling analysis
Solving fire engineering calculations with support, including radiant heat, smoke control, and occupant evacuations
Communicating fire strategies to design teams and clients
Conducting third-party design verification
Understanding and applying UK fire safety legislation and standardsKey Requirements

A degree in Fire Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team
Working knowledge of regulatory controls and the ability to develop and implement fire engineered design solutions
IFE Membership (MIFireE or AIFireE)
Thorough understanding of ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, and BB100Benefits
