Design Engineer - Permanent role - ASAP start - Various locations (UK & Europe) - £50k - £55k PA (Depending on experience)
The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the CAS process with the finalised designs both internally and site installation programme. They will have a strong understanding of CAD software and be able to work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* An initial understanding of the CAD and BIM process.
* Manage and support throughout the design process.
* Check and validate designs at their given checkpoints.
* Be the driver on all engineering aspects of the design.
* Be the support function on the technical aspects.
* Answer RFI’s in a timely manner in line with the requirements.
* Use multiple design management systems, for example BIM360.
* Manage your diary in line with project deliverables, business needs and client needs.
* Read, produce, and check specifications.
* Read, produce, and check Bill of Materials (BOM).
* Read, produce, and check all key documents required for a design.
* Understand the key security systems involved in the business and design world to enable production of compliant designs.
* Keep up to date and relevant with Security technologies.
* Regularly research new and changing technologies applicable to Security.
* Undertake site visits before, during and after design periods. Site may be overseas.
* Visit site benchmark our designs against site environments.
* Visit site to increase and improve knowledge of real-life environments and installs vs designs on paper.
* Visit site to undertake QA/QC of installation work vs our clients designs, instructing change were required through engagement with appointed integrator.
* Visit sites where required for RFI’s that justify or require a site visit.
* Capture, document, and maintain a lesson identified register, engaging the wider business to support focused delivery
* Coordinate and deliver efficiently and effectively with the wider design team to meet stated deadlines.
* Ensure the completed design meets the standards set out by the business and/or client.
* Attend on-site kick-off meetings. These can either be remote or in person as specified by the client.
* Attend all design sync calls externally and internally.
* Minute calls where required.
* Maintain any current or future certifications held.
* Work closely with other business departments to maintain common standards and common deliverables.
* Maintain working relationships with 3rd Party suppliers who support our clients Design such as RoIP.
