Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a Science Technician at a dynamic secondary school in Leeds. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our science department starting in September 2024.

About the Role: As a Science Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the science department, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will help inspire the next generation of scientists by providing hands-on support during experiments and maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons, including practical experiments and demonstrations.
Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and stored correctly.
Assist teachers during practical lessons, offering technical support and guidance to students.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory and order new supplies as needed.
Provide support for extra-curricular science activities and events.Requirements:

Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school setting is essential.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
