Our client is the largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK, offering everything you need to make, bake, create, and get inspired. The distribution centre based in Burton on Trent is the backbone of their supply chain, ensuring that all stores are stocked with all the essentials their customers love. We are seeking motivated and energetic Warehouse Operatives to join this team and help us keep the creativity flowing.

As a Warehouse Operative you will play a crucial role in the distribution operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and accurately. You will be part of a dynamic team that values safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Unloading:

Unload and check incoming deliveries for accuracy.
Inspect goods for damage and report any issues.
Stock Management:

Organize and store inventory in designated areas.
Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
Order Picking & Packing:

Accurately pick and pack orders for dispatch to stores and customers.
Ensure all orders are packed securely to prevent damage during transit.
Dispatching:

Prepare products for dispatch and load them onto delivery vehicles.
Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of all orders.
Health & Safety:

Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Operate warehouse equipment (such as forklifts and pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, following training and certification guidelines.
Teamwork:

Collaborate with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) safely.
Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Other:

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
The pay rates for this positions will be: Day shift £11.98 per hour / Night Shift £14.16 per hour
