Our client, a leading company in Dubai, is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Procurement Engineer to join their dynamic Supply Chain team. This role is critical in driving cost efficiency and quality improvements across the supply chain while ensuring effective communication between suppliers and internal teams.

Position Overview

As a Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities for quality improvements, cost savings, and other supply chain enhancements. You will work closely with various departments including Project Management, Design, Manufacturing, and QA/QC to ensure smooth sourcing processes and product integrity. Your role will be key in identifying the most cost-effective sources, maintaining product quality, and ensuring suppliers meet all expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Sourcing & Supplier Management:

* Act as the technical interface between suppliers and internal teams (Project Management/Design/Manufacturing) to identify new and alternate sources.

* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure engineering drawing requirements are clear and communicated to suppliers.

* Engage with Project Management/Design/Manufacturing to ensure suppliers are involved in specification development and review, promoting design for manufacturability.

* Continuously assist in the supplier selection process to develop a competitive supply base in quality, cost, delivery, and technology.

* Support Supplier Evaluations and Audits, collaborating with QA/QC and Purchasing.

* Assist QA/QC in resolving product quality issues and auditing suppliers.

* Leadership & Communication:

* Ensure timely and accurate communication flows to all stakeholders.

* Lead by example and maintain high standards in delivering results.

* Compliance & Risk Management:

* Adhere to HSE regulations and company policies.

* Ensure compliance with legal requirements, HR, and HSE policies.

* Implement a functional risk management process to manage supply chain risks effectively.

Qualifications & Experience

* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role within an engineering discipline.

Key Skills & Competencies

* Strong command of the English language (both written and verbal).

* Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.

* Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

* Proven experience with electronic/electrical components, metal fabrication, and trading in metals.

* Strong analytical skills with a focus on solving complex problems and making sound judgments.

* Ability to communicate professionally and positively with all stakeholders.

* High level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate and present ideas.

* Experience in working within highly regulated environments.

* Demonstrate ability to deliver quality results on time, reliably, and conscientiously.
