We are currently working with an ambitious Insurance company/MGA, who now have an exciting opportunity for someone to join their claims team in their Romford office as a Personal Injury Claims Handler.

They have a very low turnover of staff which we feel speaks volumes about the type of organisation they are to work for, with only 4 people leaving the business in the last 10 years and they currently have a strong and close knit team of 28 in this office, with 12 in the claims team.

Your role will be based on their PI claims team, where you will be expected to manage Motor (Personal injury) Claims from first notification of loss through to settlement through the relevant portals, negotiating claims through to settlement and regularly communicating with brokers, solicitors and adjusters and updating relevant stakeholders on the status of relevant claims and instructing lawyers when necessary. You will also be expected to support with internal external audit processes, liaise with underwriters on key claims issues and be the go-to person for support and queries for Motor Claims. 90% of your claims portfolio will be injury claims on the OIC portal and £5k and below.

To be considered for this role you will need previous experience of handling Motor (Personal Injury) claims from cradle to grave, an understanding of legal liability and supporting case law and an understanding of legal regulatory issues relating to policy wordings. You will need an understanding of the MoJ reforms, RTA and Credit Hire and previous experience of Personal injury evaluation tools. You will need to be a great team player with an upbeat personality, adaptable and able to react positively to change. They may also consider someone currently working on bent metal and property damage claims in Motor claims role if you are looking to move into a Personal Injury claims role.

This role is mainly office based with 4 days in the office and 1 from home.

Salary on offer is £28-32k depending on experience.

There is also a yearly bonus scheme of between £500-£1000. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with 1 hour for lunch . They also offer a Pension met up to 4%. There is no parking at the office, but after probation they have a deal with the local council to get staff a parking discount locally.
