The role of Legal Cashier will report directly to the Finance Manager.
To undertake all accounting and bookkeeping duties within the firm.
Key Tasks
* Daily Bank reconciliations.
* Payments by CHAPS/BACS/ Foreign Payments.
* Ensuring correct allocation of Client funds.
* Banking.
* Billing.
* Dealing with clients both in person and by telephone.
* Dealing with internal enquiries.
* Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
* Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures.
* Any other duties, which from time to time are required by the firm.
Person specification
Essential
* Skills: Literate and numerate- maintaining a high level of accuracy, ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships.
* Knowledge: Knowledge of the Solicitors accounts rules, knowledge of Legal Accounts software.
* Experience: Experience as a cashier in a solicitor’s office.
Desirable:
* Knowledge: A recognised solicitor’s accounts qualification.
* Experience: A good level of computer literacy, especially with MS Word and Excel
