JOB DETAILS

Responsibilities:

1. Processing purchase invoices against accruals in the accounting system.

2. Uploading and transferring purchase and sales invoices into SAGE 200.

3. Checking deferment statements.

4. Maintaining system data and ensuring its accuracy and integrity.

5. Promoting health and safety in the workplace.

Overall Purpose / Scope of the Position:

1. Assisting the accounts team with the responsibilities listed above.

2. Ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

3. Performing any other reasonable tasks to support business needs.

Key Result Areas:

1. Effective communication with customers, internal staff, and managers.

2. Maintaining accuracy in all information and tasks.

3. Developing a thorough understanding of the role.

4. Escalating queries or issues when necessary.

5. Ensuring proper housekeeping of systems.

Working Conditions:

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30, subject to reasonable changes as required for the position.

Adhering to the company’s health and safety policy.

Maintaining a high standard of health and safety practices.

Ensuring that colleagues and contractors understand and follow health and safety policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES

Qualifications:

Good level of numeracy and literacy.

Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, email, SAGE 200, spreadsheets, and databases.

5 GCSEs or equivalent.

Job Skills:

Ability to manage tasks independently with strong attention to detail.

A methodical and thorough approach to work.

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to stay focused under pressure.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively to meet requirements.

Adherence to established processes.

A flexible, team-oriented mindset.

Experience:

Essential: Previous experience in accounts.

Proficiency in Sage 200, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and other MS Office tools.

Experience working with database systems (desired).

Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Personal Competencies:

A positive, "can-do" attitude with a desire to improve.

Proficient in English and Maths.

Strong prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.

Excellent communication abilities.

Keen attention to detail
