Supply Heroes are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant based in Stechford

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs? We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our small, supportive team in a resource base for children with non-verbal autism.

Role Overview:

* Location: Informal resource base, working with children, including a child with complex non-verbal autism.

* Key Responsibilities:

* Providing 1:1 support to children in a resource base setting.

* Using Makaton signing and picture exchange systems to communicate with the children.

* Supporting personal care routines.

* Ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of children, including managing distressing behaviors

* Working closely with a small, dedicated team under the guidance of an experienced SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience with Makaton signing and picture exchange communication systems (PECS).

* Previous experience working in special education, particularly with children with autism or complex needs.

* A caring, patient, and understanding approach.

* Ability to manage challenging behaviors and provide emotional support.

* A team player who can work well within a small, collaborative group.
