Senior Estimator
Location: Just outside Whickham
Salary: £55,000–£70,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance, Pension at 5%, Discretionary Bonus, 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Their team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join the team and play a key role in shaping their success.
The Role
As a Senior Estimator, you’ll prepare detailed cost estimates for a diverse range of projects. Working closely with the bid and pre-construction teams, you’ll ensure tender submissions are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company objectives. Your expertise will help us deliver value, build strong supplier relationships, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for D&B projects across varied sectors.
* Lead pre-qualification, quality, and pre-bid submissions.
* Collaborate with the bid team to develop competitive tender packages.
* Conduct cost analysis and ensure accuracy in pricing.
* Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms.
* Assess project risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
* Identify opportunities to add value throughout the project lifecycle.
* Work closely with the Managing Estimator and key stakeholders to achieve company goals.
* Support colleagues in the estimating, surveying, and pre-construction teams.
What You’ll Need:
* 3+ years of experience in civils and/or refurbishment projects.
* Proficiency in Causeway or similar estimating software.
* Strong skills in taking off all building elements.
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
* In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
* Proven ability to price single-stage, two-stage, and negotiated tenders independently.
* A full UK driver’s licence.
