Senior Business Development Manager (with potential to step into Head of Sales)
Competitive salary, plus £15,000 guaranteed first year commission

Established for over twenty-nine years, Entel is an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) which has firmly established itself as a prominent leading global player in the radio communications industry. Entel operates its own design and manufacturing divisions, with distribution centres throughout the world.
We are seeking an ambitious, results-oriented and driven Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to progress their career and step into a senior leadership role.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a crucial role in leading the BDM team, driving business growth and expanding our client base. You will develop and execute strategies to increase sales, manage key client relationships, and explore new business opportunities.
Working closely with senior leadership and the sales team to align business development initiatives with company goals. you will dedicate 60% will be spent generating sales through proactive calling and driving revenue while the remaining 40% of your time overseeing the team’s strategy and performance. This is an office-based role with a strong emphasis on phone sales.
In this role, you will have the clear opportunity to evolve your career within our company. After successfully proving your ability to drive results and manage key client accounts, you will be in line to transition into the role of Head of Sales within 9-12 months. This is an ideal opportunity for a Senior BDM who is looking for a structured path towards leadership and to make a real impact on the sales strategy at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities: (initial 9-12 months)
Hands-On Sales (60%):
* Actively engage in sales calls, making 4 + hours of outbound calls daily to potential customers.
* Cultivate relationships with prospective and existing customers to achieve sales targets.
* Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing, ensuring a strong pipeline.
* Understand the market place and present tailored solutions that align with company offerings.
Sales team (40%):
* Actively contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
* Oversee sales forecasting, lead generation, and pipeline management to ensure a healthy flow of new business opportunities.
* Lead the BDM team to deliver high-quality work and achieve targets.
* Coach and mentor the BDM team to help team members improve their performance.
Skills & Experience:
* Solid experience in product sales with proven success in driving business growth and managing high-level accounts.
* Ambition and a desire to step into senior leadership within a short timeframe.
* Strong leadership potential with the ability to manage teams and inspire results, developing high-performing team, with the ability to motivate, coach, and drive performance.
* Proven experience of hiring, onboarding, training, and delivering ongoing professional development initiatives for team members.
* Proven experience in business development and sales with a hands-on, phone based sales background (preferably office based, not field sales).
* Demonstrable proven track record in sales growth.
* A results-orientated approach with hunter centric sales experience including prospecting, cold-calling, qualifying leads, negotiating and closing sales and building relationships.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
* Tech savy (experience working with products of a technical nature would be a plus)
* Ability to quickly understand market demand.
* Strategic thinker.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a sales lead role, with a demonstrated history of success in driving sales ideally within an office-based environment.
* Demonstrated success in phone-based sales, cold calling and lead generation.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modelling, and reporting.
* In-depth understanding of CRM systems and sales tracking tools.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
To be considered for the role, you must live within a commutable distance, ideally less than an hour, from the office which is based in Elstree (WD6 3TJ).
