About the company
The company are one of the oldest civil engineering companies in the country and are based in the North West. They are a group of companies and I am working on behalf of the Civil Engineering arm of the business which currently turns over £100M a year. They have an extremely high staff retention rate and are very rarely looking for new staff however they have just won a lot of new work and are looking for senior operational staff for these projects that are all in the North West. Their clients include National Highways, the Environment Agency, United utilities and private clients. Projects range in value from £50,000 up to £2M and types of projects include flood prevention works, wastewater and drainage works, reservoirs, canals and rivers, renewable energy works, highways infrastructure works, bridges, culverts and retaining walls, highways construction and maintenance works as well as footways and cycleways works.
About the role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to provide commercial support to the project team, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and ensure objectives are achieved. This role will be suitable for someone who has a strong utility and construction background. Both NEC and JCT contract experience would be ideal. This role will involve managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors. There will be scope for career progression in the role with a company that has an excellent reputation in the industry and is very forward thinking.
The projects that you’ll be involved in will range from infrastructure, bridge infrastructure, concrete structures, land drainage, internal drainage, flood banks, deep drainage and major earthwork projects. You will be working on one of the largest frameworks in the country on essential work to keep the utilities infrastructure on track over the next 10 years.
You will be overseeing a number of sites which will range in location from North Wales to Liverpool and Chester.

Requirements
You will be degree qualified and have an excellent knowledge of the utility and major infrastructure sector. A minimum of 2 years experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role is required and a working knowledge of contract law and commercial practise is essential. You will have excellent stability on your cv and will have significant UK experience
