Job Summary
As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and dynamic lessons that help students of year 7 to year 11 explore the wonders of science and develop a love for the subject.
Responsibilities
As a Science Teacher, your duties will include:
Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons in Science, in line with the national curriculum.
Planning and adapting lessons to cater to a wide range of student abilities, ensuring each child can reach their full potential.
Creating a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning.
Using a variety of teaching methods, including practical activities, to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Tracking student progress, providing regular feedback, and adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Maintaining high standards of classroom management and student behaviour, ensuring a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
Collaborating with colleagues to plan and deliver cross-curricular learning experiences.
Supporting extracurricular activities that enhance students’ understanding of science and inspire them outside the classroom.
Requirements
To be considered for the Science Teacher role, you will need:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE or equivalent, or be working towards achieving it in Secondary Science.
A solid understanding of the Science curriculum for both KS3 and KS4.
Previous experience in teaching Science, particularly at GCSE level, is desirable.
A passion for teaching and inspiring young learners to engage with and succeed in Science.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities, as well as a commitment to personal and professional development.
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.
