Morson Talent are recruitng an In House Commercial Solicitor for a large organsiation within the Energy Sector based in London on an inital 12 month contract. Candidates should ideally have expeirence in Construction law and be at least 2 years PQE. Our client also offers hybrid working and are looking to pay £350 - £400 per day inside ir35.
Key Responsibilities
Advising on high value tenders; drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, consultancy and service contracts, goods, works and construction contracts;
Advising on a range of legislation including Electricity Act, Data Protection Act, New Roads and Street Works Act, Town and Country Planning Act, Health and Safety legislation and TUPE;
Advising on intellectual property issues;
Advising the business, including senior executives on compliance with legislation affecting the business;
Drafting, negotiating and advising upon the interpretation of contracts; leading negotiations opposite partners and senior associates from City law firms;
Preparing and delivering training on current legal issues to the legal team and to business colleagues;
Awareness of and ability to advise upon impact of competition law;
Instruction of and supervision of the work of external solicitors;
If requested, to assume responsibility for the output and standard of work of less experienced staff and solicitors;
Advising on disputes and assisting on a range of litigation matters.
Key Skills
Qualified Solicitor with 2:1 degree and at least 2 years PQE experience with a commercial and construction law background;
Experience working both in-house and in private practice preferred;
The ability to communicate clearly and authoritatively at senior level and to manage complex negotiations opposite partners and senior associates from City law firms;
The commitment and ability to manage an extensive and varied workload under pressure and to tight timescales;
The ability to work as part of a team communicating clearly with internal clients and external customers;
Good keyboard and IT skills;
Experience working in a regulated environment, utilities sector preferred;
Experience working with the NEC suite of contracts. NEC ECC Project Manager Accreditation would be an advantage
