Project Manager – Retail Fit-Out & Rollout | £60,000 - £70,000 + Package | East Anglia & Nationwide

Fairmead are recruiting on behalf of one of the most well-established and respected contractors in East Anglia. With a strong foothold in the retail sector, they are a trusted delivery partner for some of the UK’s leading retailers, undertaking high-profile fit-out, refurbishment, and rollout schemes across the country. Due to a significant pipeline of secured work for 2025, they are looking to bring on board an experienced Project Manager to lead fast-paced retail projects valued between £5M - £10M.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple retail fit-out and refurbishment projects across East Anglia and beyond. These schemes are high-pressure, fast-moving, and require meticulous planning, coordination, and leadership. You will be at the forefront of delivering high-spec, client-focused solutions while ensuring programmes are met, budgets controlled, and safety maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

* Full project ownership from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring successful delivery of retail fit-out & refurbishment schemes.

* Managing site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution.

* Liaising closely with clients, framework partners, and internal stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.

* Driving programme efficiency, sequencing works effectively to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

* Ensuring strict compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety protocols, and company procedures.

* Managing budgets, cost forecasting, and reporting on project progress.

* Leading and motivating teams in a high-pressure, fast-track retail environment.

What We’re Looking For

This role would suit an experienced Project Manager or a Senior Site Manager looking to step up. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale retail fit-out, rollout, and refurbishment projects for major brands, supermarkets, or high-street retailers.

Essential Requirements:

* Proven experience in managing multiple retail fit-out & refurbishment projects (ideally within the £5M-£10M range).

* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive performance on site.

* Excellent understanding of retail construction challenges – tight deadlines, night shifts, phasing, working in live trading environments etc.

* Full knowledge of fit-out processes, M&E coordination, and finishing trades.

* Ability to work to strict programmes and deliver turnkey solutions to clients.

* SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS (Black/White Card preferred).

* Commercial awareness and experience working with frameworks.

* Flexibility to travel and stay away when required (though most work is East Anglia based).
