Role: Assistant Buyer
We are currently working alongside a high end residential, refurbishment company who are on the lookout for an Assistant Buyer.
Experience: Looking for someone with good building material knowledge. An ideal candidate would be someone who has or is working in a builder’s merchant who is looking to move over to the purchasing side of material buying.
General Duties:
* Fast paced material buying on a day-to-day basis – as site make requests. Identify appropriate suppliers, based on material requirements and speed of delivery.
* Some larger package purchasing – identify requirements, gather prices, compare against budgets and present the solution to the team for approval.
* Review and process invoices for materials on a monthly basis on our cloud software.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key material suppliers. Identify areas of improvement and new suppliers. Maintain a spreadsheet of suppliers and contact details for each area of works.
* General duties as required by surveyors, as necessary, relating to purchasing or gathering costs.
* Administration duties in relation to purchasing of goods as required.
* Regular site visits to improve knowledge of the building process.
* Answering purchasing department incoming calls and directing calls accordingly.
Working hours & pattern: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
They offer hybrid working- Mostly working from home but will be required to meet on the construction sites (mostly always in London) and/or in a day office in London, likely no more than once a week.
