Key Responsibilities
• To ensure that yeast is produced within defined specifications and parameters to meet company and customer requirements
• To ensure that the production process is monitored, and any deviations reported that could affect the continuity or quality of production
• To be responsible for the safety of self and others around you in the production environment
Key Outputs:
• Monitor fermentation and checking in-process parameters and the quality of samples, making any necessary production adjustments
• Accurately record raw materials, production stage timings and quality checks
• Perform yeast counts and cell mass measurement along with other in-process analysis
• Work with the lab team, who carry out further tests to monitor products
• Ensure the correct storage and stock management of raw materials
• Clean and maintain all equipment, making sure the strictest levels of hygiene are kept throughout the brewing process
• Loading vehicles with finished product ready for dispatch
• Ensure all work always adheres to quality and safety standards
• Carry out other housekeeping tasks as required to maintain a safe and efficient environment
• To report defects in machinery and equipment to prevent further damage
• Data input for quality and process records
Skills and Knowledge:
• knowledge of food production processes or other liquid engineering processes
• QC and QA awareness – ISO, BRC
• H&S and Environmental awareness – NEBOSH or IOSH Managing safety
• Flexible to adapt to different culture
Experience & Qualifications:
• Minimum HNC or equivalent
• Experience of operating process plant and machinery using a DCS system
• Experience of process monitoring and deviation reporting
