Lab Technician – Contract with the potential to go Permanent – South Yorkshire – £11.44 Per Hour

We are seeking a Lab Technician to work for a global healthcare company who provide contract sterilization, laboratory testing, and product and packaging testing services to manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and industrial products. They support their customers throughout the sterilization process with a comprehensive offering of testing and validation services. This is a role based in the microbiology unit.

Core Role and Responsibilities:

To perform microbiological techniques on customer product and other samples, including, but not limited to; microbiological identifications, culture preparation and maintenance, bioburden, environmental, biological indicator (routine and validation), product inoculations and sterility testing.

To uphold the operation and maintenance of the laboratory autoclave, water generation system, balances, heating mantles, stirrers, incubators, laminar flows, pH meter, vacuum pumps, filtration apparatus, monitoring systems, pipettes, thermometers, and other equipment used in carrying out duties.

Responsible for organising the environmental monitoring program and the checking of the environmental conditions within the laboratory.

Experience and Skills:

* Science related degree

* 1 + year experience in industry desirable

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Good organisational skills
