Tech Lead – Software Engineering (Java, Angular, C#)
Location: Burton / Hybrid
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + Benefits

The Role
Reporting directly to the IT Director and collaborating closely with the Product Owner, you’ll play a key role in shaping the company’s software development strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring others while remaining technically hands-on.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Providing technical leadership and setting best practices for the development team
* Defining the software strategy and driving continuous innovation
* Managing and modernising existing applications while tackling technical debt
* Designing, building, and supporting bespoke internal applications
* Mentoring and developing the internal dev team – nurturing talent and fostering growth
* Overseeing development sprints and ensuring smooth delivery of projects
What You’ll Work On
* Exciting Projects: Delivering new applications and enhancing existing platforms
* Modern Tech Stack: Java (Spring), Angular, C#.NET Blazor, plus legacy systems
* Systems Integration: Supporting the transition from legacy applications and contributing to the wider Data and Software Strategy
What We’re Looking For
* Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of team management or leadership
* Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience with Java, Angular, and/or C#
* Strategic Mindset: Proactive problem solver with a drive for continuous improvement
* Innovation Focus: Passionate about learning, evolving, and delivering better solutions
