Care Team Leader
JOB PURPOSE:
To work as a member of a team in the provision of care and assistance to adults and the elderly to enable them to remain in their own home and lead as independent a lifestyle as possible. To supervise and participate in the delivery of care. To lead on the responsibility of service users’ individual care documentation ensuring a person centred approach. To provide effective leadership for care staff through supervision, support and mentoring in all aspects of care. To assist with staff rotas.To be responsible for the administration of medication. Care duties will include assisting service users with the following activities: personal care, healthcare, dietary care, domestic/household services and personal services. In so doing the applicant will at all times observe and respect the service user’s dignity, privacy and independence as far as practical and have a passion for providing high quality care.
SKILLS / ABILITIES
Required:
* Proven ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a team and work under pressure in a diverse and changing environment
* A commitment to a service which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individuals’ wishes
* Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate effectively with Service Users, colleagues, family members, Managers and other persons with a legitimate interest in the project
* Commitment to training and development
* Extensive experience in a health or social care setting
* Good basic care planning skills
* Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of service users
* Ability to carry out all aspects of the role to a high standard at all times
* Ability to effectively supervise individuals and a team
