Our client is one of the leading independent M&E Design and Build Contractors in the Yorkshire region. Employing 20+ full time staff and operating a turnover of circa £13m, the company continues to secure long term framework business that guarantees longevity of work and repeat custom.
For over 20 years they have specialised in providing full mechanical and electrical design and installation services and forged an enviable reputation for energy efficient buildings that work. Providing a national service for well known sports and leisure chains, along with more recently moving into the distribution and “big shed” market, the business has evolved and organically grown, comfortably recognised as a leader in their space.
As the business looks to further invest in the management structure, a mechanical lead Engineer to spearhead preconstruction design projects is required. This crucial role will oversee the smooth collaborative running of a high performing section, working closely with the Electrical Division and Senior Management Team to deliver projects to time, expectation and cost. A strong commercial understanding and appreciation of budgets and project expenditure is vital, as is the experience of dealing with schemes at all stages and the inevitable challenges that brings in live environments. Working closely with Estimators, Project Managers and Technicians, you will be ultimately responsible for the accurate design of complex HVAC systems. The company’s impeccable safety record is no fluke and the delivery of live schemes in a safe working environment, remains the number one priority at all times.
Applications are invited from commercially astute Mechanical Building Services Design Engineers with a proven track record of managing projects to achieve outstanding results. Whilst a strong HVAC bias is naturally required, it would also be hoped that interested parties would have a solid understanding of basic electrical services and an appreciation for the wider construction processes, which must all align to deliver a completed new or refurbished building.
Reporting directly to the Mechanical Divisional Director and supporting the wider business to achieve collective objectives, this key appointment will become an essential part of the management team and be well placed to progress as the structure evolves further
