A Project Manager with experience of managing enterprise software projects and a recognised project management qualification (such as PRINCE 2, PMP, APM etc) is sought by a Tyneside based Technology business
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for managing various software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and scope, whilst ensuring they are delivered in-line with company goals and objectives. Current projects range in value, and you will manage numerous contracts simultaneously, potentially across multiple clients on an end-to-end basis. You will also have the following responsibilities
Control project schedules, scope and budgets as per business and client needs.Plan and manage internal project resources.
Monitor progress using simple KPIs, including contractual milestones and deliverables.
Manage any project changes or variations. Justify and agree variations with clients, and ensure commercials are raised to cover business costs.
Report and justify claimed revenue during monthly project reviews.
Risk and issues management
Analyse trends in project risks or issues requests to identify opportunities for system or process improvements.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for project processes and schedules.
Generate regular reports on project performance, based on agreed KPIs.The successful candidate will have some of the following skills and personal qualities: -
A qualification in project management (PRINCE2, PMP, APM etc.)
Several years of experience managing enterprise software projects
Experience managing expectations of clients and driving suppliers
An engineering background biased towards computer science
Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects
Able to make critical decisions, that benefit the project, customer and business
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Ability to motivate people
Management and leadership skills
Experience of using project management software (ClickUp, (url removed), MS Project etc.)
These critical projects have clear client driven deadlines, so accurate management to drive them through to completion within the agreed timelines is a necessity. You will need experience of managing all aspects of a project, including clients/stakeholders, resources, quality, safety, risks, budget, schedules & deliverables and be capable of solving problems and adapting to changing circumstances.
This role can be office-based or flexible hybrid with the requirement that the person will attend the office when necessary. There will be occasional travel to supplier or client sites. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and responsiveness.
