Material Handling Team Leader

* Up to £27,500 + Shift allowance

* 2 shifts

* Permanent after trial period

An automotive manufacturing business based in Sunderland, are looking for an enthusiastic Material Handling Team Leader to join the logistics department on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience of material control within a busy manufacturing warehouse

Role & Responsibilities

* Leading a team of Fork Lift Drivers, Warehouse Operatives and Material Handling staff including their safety, training and time sheets.

* Working closely with Material Handling Supervisor to plan and monitor all material movement.

* Planning equipment, material and manpower requirements to meet production schedule.

* Working closely with Production in resolving production planning and control issues.

* Monitoring inventory status and generating monthly inventory reports.

* Generating reports on production shortages for analysis.

* Develop process improvements for inventory, manufacturing and production control systems

Knowledge & Experience

* Previous experience within a similar role ideally within the automotive industry

* The ability to prioritise a heavy workload and work effectively

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team

* Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime when required by the business
