Adecco are supporting a London Borough Council team in a service role as a Youth Engagement Officer

Location: East London

Contract Details: Temporary, 3 months

Salary: £22.18 - £27.50 per hour

Lead the planning and delivery of one-to-one support for high-risk children and young people involved in the youth justice services.
Work closely with the Youth Justice Service Case Manager to create a weekly Intensive Supervision and Surveillance (ISS) timetable.
Plan, deliver, and review support packages to ensure a high standard of activities for young people and their families.
Deliver specific interventions on a one-to-one and group basis to support children's desistance from offending, safety, and well-being.
Develop, organise, and facilitate community reparation placements, including supervision and attendance monitoring.
Lead the planning, facilitation, and evaluation of the Youth Justice Service 'youth forum'.Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Experience in engaging with vulnerable young people subject to statutory intervention
Excellent engagement and communication skills
Strong ability to build positive relationships with a variety of communities and partner organisations
Knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleDesirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Experience in working within youth engagement or youth justice services
Knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures
Experience organising and facilitating group activities

Note: This role is based in Whitechapel, London. The office is conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from Whitechapel train station. The working hours are 35 hours per week, with occasional evening and Sunday appointments/reparation cover required. An enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this position.
