Senior Software Engineer

Our client, a leader in providing bespoke and innovative technical solutions in the various industries, is seeking an experienced software engineer to join their dynamic and growing engineering design team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a software engineer with strong skills in LabVIEW. The role involves developing software for cutting-edge solutions and providing technical support and training to junior engineers. The successful software engineer will be responsible for the conceptual design and development of software, ensuring high-quality and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities of a Software Engineer:

Develop software for new equipment, including drivers, software modules, and test sequences.

Design, write, and document maintainable, extensible, reliable, and efficient code.

Participate in preliminary and critical design reviews, integration, validation, and commissioning.

Liaise with customers to translate system specifications into software module specifications.

Assist and support junior team members, conduct peer assessments, and carry out acceptance testing both in the factory and on-site.

Key Skills of a Software Engineer:

Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to finding solutions.

Methodical and organised in producing software code and documentation.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work well within a team.

Good time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.

Experience of a Software Engineer:

Degree in Engineering.

5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.

Experience with the full lifecycle software design process.

Proficiency in LabVIEW and TestStand (CLD minimum desirable).

Ability to meet the criteria for Security Check (SC).
