SWIFT Temps Ltd Industrial Recruitment Division are currently working with a Manufacturing Client based in Bradford who are looking to recruit for a skilled Laser Operator to join their production team on a Temporary 2-month Contract.

The successful candidate will operate laser cutting machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to specifications, supporting a short-term increase in production demand.

Temp Contract Minium 2 months with an option to be extended depending on business demands

Location: Bradford, UK

Pay rate: £13.43- £17.91 per hour

Working hours: 18:30pm – 06:00am (night shift) With potential for overtime depending on production needs.

Contract Type: Temporary (2 months)

Reporting to: Production Manager / Shift Supervisor

Must have an FLT – Counterbalance minimum.

Must be Certified in slinging & lifting

Manual Handling would be conducted on the induction.

Key Responsibilities:

Laser Machine Operation:

* Set up and operate laser cutting machinery, ensuring accurate cuts based on production drawings.

* Adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, power) to optimise cutting quality for various materials (e.g., metals, gaskets).

* Monitor the laser cutting process to ensure parts are produced to specification.

Material Handling:

* Load and unload materials such as sheet metal, rubber, and gasket materials into the laser cutting machine.

* Manage material usage, ensuring minimal waste and optimal use of stock.

Quality Assurance:

* Inspect parts after cutting to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.

* Perform minor adjustments and rework on defective parts, where necessary.

* Ensure consistent production quality through periodic checks and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.

Machine Maintenance:

* Perform basic routine maintenance on laser cutting equipment, such as cleaning lenses and removing debris.

* Report any issues with the machine’s performance to the maintenance team.

Safety and Compliance:

* Follow all company health and safety protocols, ensuring that protective equipment is worn as required.

* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free of hazards.

* Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Previous experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.

* Familiarity with CNC programming and the ability to work with technical drawings.

* Understanding of laser cutting processes, including machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.

* Ability to work with various materials (e.g., metals, gasket materials).

* High attention to precision and detail, ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

* Ability to resolve issues that may arise during operation or in the production process.

* Ability to lift and handle materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
