Senior Accountant – Security Cleared Role Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a UK Police Force on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a CCAB-qualified accountant to play a key role in financial management, change projects, and strategic decision-making within policing.

Location: Cwmbran
Rate: £31.56 per hour (Umbrella)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Contract Length: 6 months (initially)

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Improve financial oversight across the force, providing strategic guidance and supporting budgetary control
Change Management: Advise on financial impacts of ongoing projects and ensure efficient resource allocation
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with CIPFA standards, IFRS, and internal governance procedures
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with officers and staff at all levels to improve financial understanding
Leadership & Support: Assist the Head of Finance and provide guidance to the finance teamEssential Requirements:
CCAB Qualification with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience (or substantial internal policing finance experience)
Strong knowledge of budget management, forecasting, and statutory financial reporting
Experience working within public sector finance
Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholdersAdditional Information:
