Our client is an incredibly luxurious desserts business whose growing range and wider exposure in major retailers has increased their popularity. The company has great ambition and is expanding its operation to across weekends and late shift manufacturing. The business produces a range of fine desserts for a well-established customer base. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for supporting the management of the warehouse function across the weekend shift and during the week.
Job Role
You will be leading a team of Warehouse Operatives to meet daily production and warehouse plans.
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, Production Manager/Junior Production Manager, Team Leaders, Technical Team, and other departments as necessary.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be need to have experience in the key areas below:
• Work closely with the Warehouse, Production and Packing teams in ensuring the factory meets its production plan deadlines
• Ensure stock is prepared and ready for production & packing so the production and packing plans are met
• Ensure quality targets are met and waste reduction is kept to a minimum
• Work closely with the technical team in ensuring consistency of product safety quality & traceability are met
• To support other members of your team to meet production and warehouse targets
• Adhere to company’s procedures relating to food safety culture
• Follow the company’s Health and Safety policy when reporting accidents or near miss incidents and have a general awareness for H&S in the workplace
• Comply with company policies and procedures and participate in any training offered throughout your employment
• Manage employee issues with Production Manager and keep HR involved where appropriate
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and housekeeping at all times
• To support colleagues in reaching the BRC Audit standards
• Ensure all paperwork and traceability records are accurately recorded both in hard copies and electronically
• Ensure correct utilization of manpower on the production and raise concerns in a timely manager with the Production Manager
• Work with the SME to train and provide guidance to Warehouse production / packing staff
• Work closely with the Stock Administrator in ensuring all paperwork (GRN, PO’s) records are accurately recorded, both in hard copies and electronically all Products have a GRN for traceability
• Deputise for the Warehouse Manager as and when required and during holidays and other absences
• Responsible for training other staff and new starters in your area of work
• Work closely with other shifts to ensure effective and smooth handover at all times
• Create a positive work environment and encourage the team to commit to high standards of performance
Personal Profile
• Previous experience of working in a food production environment
• Experience in leading a team (2years experience leading a team)
• Warehouse Leadership experience
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good time management
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Ability to work across departments.
• Knowledge of food hygiene standards
• Counter balance forklift driving experience and Mini Bendi licence (preferable)
• Comfortable in working in a cold environment
Hours
Saturday and Sunday 06:00-14:30
Plus 3 other week days (flexible) 06:00-14:30
Salary
£31k per annum
