Payroll/Book-keeping Assistant (Part-Time) – Brighouse
My client are a small, local firm of accountants seeking an experienced Payroll/Book-keeping Assistant to join their team. If you have experience using SAGE for both payroll and bookkeeping, and enjoy working in a dynamic office environment, Id love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll: Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately, calculating PAYE, NIC, pensions, SSP, and SMP. Experience with SAGE payroll is essential, including processing RTI submissions to HMRC.
Bookkeeping: Prepare and submit VAT returns for a range of clients using Sage 50 and cloud-based software. Experience with QuickBooks and Xero is beneficial but not required.
Additional Tasks: Handle basic reception duties and client calls when necessary.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in payroll and bookkeeping using SAGE software (both payroll and bookkeeping modules).
Knowledge of HMRC RTI submissions and relevant payroll legislation.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with QuickBooks and Xero.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Hours of work are (Apply online only) Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - rate of pay is £16.00 per hour
