We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our global client on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the fabrication of buildings, both internally and externally, to the highest standards. In addition, you will support general site maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Monday to Friday
8am to 5pm
£34,000

Key Responsibilities:

* Building Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance
Carry out repairs, including plumbing, carpentry (e.g hanging doors, fitting locks), electrical (e.g changing light bulbs, plugs), and general building work (e.g sealing joints, filling holes with concrete or plaster).

* Site Services:
Maintain site services, including unblocking and clearing drains.
Assist with building proofing and basic construction tasks.

* Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the Chief Engineer, Quality Manager, and Health & Safety Coordinator to plan and manage maintenance schedules, both routine and ad-hoc.
Report any potential Health & Safety concerns to line managers immediately.

* Tools & Equipment:
Ensure proficiency with hand and powered tools related to building maintenance.Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance logs, and job reports using computer systems.

* Health & Safety Compliance:
Uphold health and safety standards (COSHH, risk assessments, etc.) on-site.
Participate in risk assessments and ensure safety compliance in all maintenance tasks.

* Team Support:
Assist the Engineering team with any additional tasks
Perform general maintenance duties and respond to urgent repair needs across the site.

* Other Duties:
Flexibility to perform other maintenance-related tasks as required by the business.

Qualifications:

* Education/Certification:
City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Building Maintenance, Construction, or related field.

* Licenses/Certifications:
Full, clean driving license required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Technical Skills:
Strong experience with general building maintenance tasks (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical work).
Knowledge of health and safety best practices, including working knowledge of COSHH, risk assessments, and safety procedures in a maintenance environment.
Capable of heavy lifting, working at heights, and handling demanding tasks (e.g., climbing stairs in multi-storey buildings).
Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including tasks that require manual labor.

* Experience:
Proven experience in building maintenance, including repairs to concrete, roofing, guttering, barriers, and yard maintenance.
