Assistant Procurement Officer

Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to be working exclusively with PD Ports on the appointment of an Assistant Procurement Officer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.

This role offers a hybrid split of 2 days in office and 3 days per week working from home.

This role can offer a competitive salary, CIPS funding as part of the package after probationary period, flexi time scheme, 35 hour working week, hybrid working, pension matched up to 7% and 25 days holiday plus bank hols.

The Role:

* Preparation & issue of ITT/RFPs/RFQs, preparation of evaluation summary and make recommendations.

* Negotiating with suppliers on pricing and terms & conditions.

* Assist in the maintenance and development of the ERP Procurement module.

* Resolve ERP procurement queries that do not require the attention of the Procurement Officer

* Assist with the training of all new ERP procurement users and refresher training to current ERP Procurement users.

* Assist in maintenance and development of the eProcurement module.

* Assist with the maintenance & Development of the Supplier Onboarding Process and reporting.

* Administration of the New Supplier Request Process

* Assist with the preparation of Tender Documentation and evaluation documentation to support other members of the Procurement team.

* Compilation and administration of various reports in order to review compliance with policy and procedures unfulfilled.

* Performs lifecycle contract management, including communicating with suppliers and departments regarding supplier performance.

* Keep staff and suppliers informed regarding procedural requirements (e.g. ordering and purchasing procedures, new supplier request process, etc) for the purpose of providing information and direction regarding the procurement process, policy and procedures.

* Collect data for the preparation of reports on procurement activities.

* Expedite solution of any problems that arise in relation to delivery date, quality, quantity and cost of purchased commodities.

* Maintenance of various trackers.

* Administration and Maintenance of the Procurement Intranet Web page

* Assist the Procurement Officer with all procurement activities within the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process to deliver compliance with the P2P policy by internal Procurement users and Suppliers.

The Person/Specification:

Minimum 2 years working in a procurement role of progressively responsible buying experience, purchasing of a variety of commodities and services.

Willingness to work towards CIPS Level 4 - funded by PD Ports

Communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.

Ability to Use Own initiative

Present verbal, written and numerical information to the Head of Procurement.

Competent in all Microsoft packages with particular emphasis on Excel.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
