The Role:

We are hiring for an experienced Program Manager to join our underwater robotics business Saab Seaeye in Fareham.

This role is responsible for delivering assigned programs to the requirements of cost, time and quality and for ensuring that Saab Seaeye is recognised as a Project and Program Management Centre of Excellence within Saab UK and the wider Saab business.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the delivery of assigned Saab Seaeye Programs meeting cost, schedule and quality requirements

Line management responsibility for the Saab Seaeye Project Management professionals providing (either directly or indirectly) training, development, mentoring, guidance and coaching as appropriate

Ensure that Seaeye Project Management capacity and capability meets the current and future business needs

Own the project delivery performance reporting across all of the Seaeye project portfolios (including Customer Solutions, New Product Development/Introduction and Continuous Improvement)

Working with Saab UK and Saab Group stakeholders, own and sponsor the selection, implementation and application of best practice Project and Portfolio Management tools and methodologies at Saab Seaeye

Own and sponsor the continued development of Saab Seaeye Project Management processes and procedures ensuring compliance with Saab GMS requirements where applicable

Support Risk Management activities across Saab Seaeye (including enterprise level) ensuring compliance with Saab UK and Saab Group requirements

Ensure adherence to the Seaeye Project delivery processes and procedures by training, support, chairing of gate reviews and proactively driving cultural change where applicable

Take a leading role in the Saab UK and Saab Group Project Management community

Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of best practice program and project management methodologies

Lead and manage allocated Projects and Programs as appropriate

Be a recognised leader by being accountable, holding others accountable and driving delivery

Enable a collaborative culture by encouraging communication and team work

Support the Saab Seaeye organisation generally in developing new business opportunities

Proactively ensure alignment with other Program Managers across the Saab organisation as appropriate

To supervise all reporting staff so as to effectively, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities to meet required deadlines

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree level or equivalent

Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince2, PMI, APM, etc.)

Good working knowledge of MS Office tools (including MS Project)

Working knowledge of Project Management theory (via, for example, Prince2 or APM qualifications)

Requirements management though the project lifecycle

Good knowledge of Risk Management tools and techniques

Minimum of 3 years Project delivery experience in management or leadership role

Experience managing new product development projects through the product lifecycle in an engineering environment

Experience of working directly with customers / customer relationship management

Commercial and business understanding

Strong planning and detail organisational skills

Strong negotiation skills

Ability to present and communicate clearly and concisely

Good facilitation and influencing skills
