Role Overview
As an HVAP Data Centre Shift Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a high-performance data centre, ensuring the reliability of all critical electrical systems. You will oversee a team of engineers, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed efficiently while adhering to safety regulations. This is a continental shift role (days & nights, 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM), requiring strong leadership skills and technical expertise in HV/LV systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and maintaining electrical systems, including HV/LV systems, generators, switchgear and UPS systems.
* Overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
* Ensuring data centre cooling systems function effectively to maintain optimal conditions e.g. CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers etc.
* Providing technical guidance and governance, acting as the subject matter expert on electrical systems.
* Leading a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site protocols.
Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* AP15 High Voltage Authorised Person (Operation & Safety).
* Previous experience working in a data centre or critical environment is essential.
* Must hold a valid HV ticket – candidates without this will not be considered.
* Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop an engineering team.

* £60,000 - £65,000 basic salary
