The Senior Project Manager/Outcome Delivery lead will be working closely with the client, Northumbria Water, on their AMP8 £3.6 Billion framework - leading the delivery of one of 4 key programmes valued between £350million - almost £1 billion.

About the role of Senior Project Manager

As the Senior Project Manager/Outcome Delivery Lead, you'll be at the forefront of driving the operational strategy and delivering exceptional results for a portfolio of outcomes within the programme. Responsibilities for Senior Project Manager

Leadership & Performance

Inspire Excellence: Lead a dynamic delivery team across the partners, forging strong partnerships that support our ambitious goals and desired outcomes.
Drive Results: Take ownership of the delivery performance within your designated programme investment area, collaborating with peers to achieve the broader outcomes.
Engage and Influence: Gather key stakeholders around critical topics through innovative forums and events, ensuring our programmes are aligned with governance.Strategy development & Delivery

Definition of outcomes; Work with Senior Responsible Owners and Tactical Planning Managers from client to clearly define the investment area outcomes to be delivered.
Strategic Vision: Develop and continuously refine a strategic plan that incorporates best practices, integrates added-value initiatives, and drives cost-effective outcomes in line with values.
Efficient Delivery: Collaborate with teams in Tactical Planning to design and promote efficient programme delivery, while managing opportunities, risks and maintaining compliance.
Culture of High Performance: Embed a culture of excellence, continually enhancing processes to improve efficiency and adapt to evolving circumstances.Communicating and Monitoring value

Celebrate Success: Capture, share, and communicate best practices across teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Evaluate and Evolve: Assess the effectiveness of strategies and metrics, addressing any areas of underperformance promptly.Effective stakeholder engagement

Manage high profile stakeholder relationships, ensure stakeholders are well-informed and are supportive of the programme

Requirements for Senior Project Manager

Its key you have strong leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and mobilisation of large programmes where there were several stakeholders to consider. You must have excellent communication, stakeholder and critical thinking skills and be able to motivate, inspire and influence those around you.

Experience of managing complex programmes, adapting strategies and responding accordingly to emerging issues is required. As an individual you will actively seek new ways of working to improve process'.

You will have experience in successfully delivering outcomes through collaborative, win-win solutions and be able to apply best practice from partners and other sectors.

Its vital you have extensive experience in the relevant investment area and have an in depth understanding of how the water sector works. A high level of financial acumen is required with experience of managing budgets in excess of £100m.

You will have previously built teams where you have embedded cultural and behavioural expectations.

Beneficial experience

It would be great if you had an understanding of OFWAT and the associated regulatory requirements.

Ideally you will possess a Programme Management qualification such as MSP Practitioner and understand project management knowledge areas as detailed in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Fifth Edition.

It would be beneficial if you have experience of generating value beyond cost considerations and understand social and environmental issues, including poverty, inequality, climate change, and human rights.
