Copello have partnered with a defence business based in Havant, in the recruitment of an Operational Purchaser on a contract basis. Contract length expected to be 6 months, minimum.

Please note candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities:

* Processing requisitions and placement of purchase orders in SAP.

* Expedite purchase orders as required in-line with manufacturing requirements.

* Supplier liaison - monitor performance through KPIs and foster collaborative relationships.

* Contribute to procurement department cost down targets.

* Support with the Indirect procurement activities as required.

* Support internal colleagues with the indirect purchase process.

* Support the resolution of invoice queries.

* Stock and maintain the stationery cupboard.

* Book and escort visitors where required around the facility.

* Address and resolve PPE-related issues as they arise.

Requirements:
As an ideal candidate, you will have:

* Proven experience within a supply chain role, preferably within defence, manufacturing or engineering environment.

* Strong IT skills - familiarity with SAP or MRP/ERP system experience.

* Strong Analytics Skills.

* Proven ability to grasp and retain new concepts with little guidance.

* Problem Solving and decision making oriented.

* Good communication and team working skills.

* Strong personal drive used to take own initiatives and be proactive.

* Ideally have or working towards CIPS qualification.
