This is a terrific opportunity for a dynamic Quantity Surveyor, to join a well-established, independent firm - Regulated by the RICS - providing a range of construction services alongside a team of professional Building Surveyors and Architects.

ROLE: QUANTITY SURVEYOR – BUILDING/ CONSTRUCTION

LOCATION: Based in Kent. Set near a beautiful Country Park. Close to a historical market town centre so you will have the benefits of local shops and amenities as well as plenty of free parking all day.

HOURS: Permanent, full time, Monday- Friday. Flexible working, core office hours.

As a Quantity Surveyor/ QS, you will be an integral part of the business, delivering high-end new-build and refurbishment projects, across Private and Public Sectors in Kent and the Southeast. Managing the financial aspects of projects, including cost estimating / planning, tendering, contract, and cost management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Day to day duties and responsibilities include:

* Measuring and estimating

* Production of cost estimates

* Cost reporting

* Preparation of monthly valuations

* Attending progress meetings and working with wider project teams

* Contract management

* Managing the tender process

* Risk management

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will possess real self-motivation, good attention to detail, excellent Microsoft Office and Excel skills, a commercial, analytical Quantity Surveying ability, excellent organisational/ forward planning skills, as well as strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills, whilst using your own initiative, self-motivation and drive to fully enjoy this challenging yet rewarding career.

As a qualified Quantity Surveyor, you will ideally have a Degree/ OND/ HND in Quantity Surveying or a time-served Apprenticeship within a Building Construction Quantity Surveying environment as well as a good understanding of the Building Construction industry/ Built Environment and a sound knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and methodologies. Possibly working towards MRICS, MCIOB or similar ambitions.

Ideal Requirements:

* Quantity Surveying or related Degree.

• Membership of or be working towards MRICS, MCIOB or similar.

• Experience of working within a consultancy or for a main contractor.

• Be self-motivated, with excellent analytical, communication and computing skills.

• Able to work as part of a team, accepting instructions from others, but also able to work on own initiative.

• Able to negotiate confidently with contractors, consultants, and clients.

• Manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

• Possess a proactive and adaptable approach to work and have a strong team working ethos.

• Work in an organised and methodical manner, with a high level of attention to detail.

• Enthusiasm for the construction industry and built environment.

• Excellent Excel skills.

• Driving licence and use of own car.
