The Assembly Technician plays a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large high-tech electromechanical equipment. The role will primarily involve detailed component assembly and will be conducted in a carefully controlled clean room environment.
The technician will also facilitate day to day operation of the clean room and associated laboratory by ensuring essential consumables remain stocked, reporting of inventory movement and that best working practices are maintained.
Responsibilities:
Shift pattern alternates between early (06:00 to 14:00) and late (14:00 and 22:00).
Flexibility will be required to swap shifts to cover for holiday and sickness. During the initial phases of training, it may not be possible to work the shift for 3 months.
· Assembly Technician ensures that clean room protocols are always followed.
· Assembly technician actively builds and tests a wide range of electro/mechanical sub-assemblies and systems.
· Assembly technician ensures that assemblies are built to controlled work instructions and drawings.
· Assembly technician is responsible for the assembly and test activities and may necessitate the use of specialist tools or test equipment as specified within Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions.
· Build records & process check sheets are compiled and completed during assembly and testing processes. Work orders are correctly signed off and return to stores after completion.
· When material or assembly quality problems are identified an NCR must be raised on SharePoint.
· Assembly technician is responsible for ensuring all equipment used, which requires calibration, is within the calibration period.
· Assembly staff is responsible for ensuring that all components are handled as per clean room protocols. Assembly technician has a responsibility for the protection and safety of equipment, product, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
· Experience of clean room working would be desirable but not essential.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment in vacuum technology - desirable not essential.
· Diligent with good attention to detail with drive to complete tasks right first time.
· Competence in mechanical handling and safe methods of working
· Experience of working for a high tech / low volume manufacturing facility would be desirable but is not essential
