Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join its small finance team in Leicestershire. This role is ideal for an individual currently studying towards an AAT qualification or a finance graduate looking to expand their accounting experience.

Reporting directly to the Company Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining and updating the sales ledger and purchase ledger

*

Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting

*

Credit control, including chasing overdue invoices and resolving payment issues

*

Processing invoices, expenses, and payments accurately and in a timely manner

*

Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash flow management

*

Supporting the Company Accountant with financial reporting and analysis

*

Handling supplier and customer queries efficiently

*

Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures

Key Requirements

*

Studying towards an AAT qualification or holding a finance-related degree (desirable)

*

Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is desirable but not essential

*

Working knowledge of Sage 50 is desirable

*

Strong numerical and analytical skills with great attention to detail

*

Excellent communication and organisational skills

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
