Introduction
Our partner, BAE Systems, is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their growing team in Glasgow on a 12-month contract. Competitive rates are offered for both locals and those willing to commute.

As part of a specialist team, you'll work on the latest generation of naval frigates, the Type 26. If you have marine industry experience and a background in working with complex mechanical systems, this is the ideal opportunity for you.

Your experience with HGV vehicles will also be beneficial, as the work involves handling large-scale mechanical equipment.

What Will I Be Doing?
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a key role in assembling, installing, and maintaining the mechanical systems that power and support the Type 26 Frigate.

You'll be working on a range of systems including engines, gearboxes, weapon propulsion systems, pumps, hydraulics, refrigeration units, radar, and pipework systems - ensuring everything operates together seamlessly. Quality control will be crucial to ensure all installations meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, your work will involve maintaining and repairing operational ships, conducting routine inspections, and troubleshooting to keep everything in optimal condition.

Given your marine industry experience and exposure to HGV vehicles, you will be well-equipped to manage and service large, complex mechanical systems used in both maritime and heavy vehicle applications.

Standard Shift - £25.22 per hour
Weekend and Night Shift - £33.36 per hour
Weekday and Saturday OT - £35.43 per hour
Sunday OT - £47.20 per hour
