Salary: £42,148 - £44,686 a year plus £963 essential car user allowance (subject to criteria)

We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker within the Referral and Assessment service in the Social work Industry. Our client Luton Council has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels.
The role offers flexible working hours for working parents and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Luton.
Main duties include:
Initial Assessments and Core Assessments
Section 47 Investigations
Contributing to the duty rota
Initiating care proceedings
Working in a multi-agency capacity to support families and children
Initial child protection reports conference reports
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (degree or diploma).
Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England).
Proven experience in a social work role, (preferably within Referral and Assessment but this is not essential)
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.Key responsibilities will include:
To work as part of a team to provide information, advice and signposting to vulnerable adults and their careers.
To receive referrals for Adult Social Care Services, prioritizing and managing risk on a day-to-day basis. Managing a varied case load.
Make use of their professional specialism to determine eligibility for the provision of Community Care Services.
Where necessary, arrange interim adult Social Care Services, with an overarching role to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable residents and their carers.
Initiate Self Directed Support, so a planning amount can be set for a Personal Budget
Use a strengths-based approach to provide advice and signposting to other sources of support as required.
