PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To respond to Commercial and Trade enquires, providing assistance and guidance to local teams using the guidelines and strategies in place

MAIN JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

* Provide answers to requests for “price” and trade enquires within an efficient time frame.

* Support the local office commercial functions within assigned geographical areas.

* Closely monitor assigned areas performance towards their KPIs

* Implement Management strategic objectives within assigned areas providing assistance as required.

* Completion of Tender documents and reports as required

* Close liaison with colleagues and consultation with EHQ Trade Supervisors

PERSON SPECIFICATION

WORK SKILLS, GENERAL AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

* Ability to deliver: Delivery of high quality work in a timely manner as well as ability to prioritise and manage expectations both internally and externally

* Customer care: Must be prepared to support the local offices with their commercial requirements within the constraints of Management guidelines

* Team working: Embrace team objectives not just within the various departments within EHQ but also with the local office teams always proactively enforcing company objectives

* Communication: Good quality written and oral communication to ensure effective and concise communication with all levels and all nationalities

* Computer skills: Microsoft Excel to a minimum of Intermediate standard, coupled with other Microsoft products and in-house systems

* Organisational skills: Ability to prioritise workload providing flexibility as and when required within the fluid environment of the container marketing team.

* Initiative: Able to proactively provide solutions to areas of non-performance

* Analytical skills: Critical ability to analyse information provided to ensure best decisions are being made as and when required

* Prioritising workload, ensuring effective communication both internally and externally to provide assistance and at all levels to educate and guide local office at various levels in Europe as well as other areas worldwide.

* Ability to communicate with all levels internally and externally in an effort to achieve the KPIs set for the areas of responsibility

* Use of in house systems with a specific understanding of contribution logic and how to interpret the information within the dynamics of the container shipping industry

* Use of Microsoft Office Products, specifically Intermediate level as a minimum level of excel to enable timely manipulation of tenders

* Attendance of in-house meetings, teleconferences and the ability to debate intelligently about the areas of your responsibility.

PERSONAL BEHAVIOURS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

* Contacts are required at various levels both internally and externally offices and internal depts.

* Ability to work on own initiative with minimal intervention

ANY OTHER INFORMATION:

* 5 years shipping experience at HQ or EHQ level with specific pricing or commercial knowledge coupled with ability to make commercial decisions

* Good level of education, A level or equivalent as a minimum
