Payroll Manager

Salary up to £55,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Employee Benefits

Hybrid Working, minimum 2 days in the office

6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Are you an experienced payroll manager with the ability to inspire a team to deliver seamless payroll services for a diverse workforce?

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Manager to ensure an exceptional colleague experience from onboarding to offboarding. In this role, you will manage and motivate a payroll team to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of our payroll covering c3,600 colleagues across the UK, from front line colleagues to board directors. You will also lead on international mobility, covering international tax, relocation, and employment matters. By collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, such as HM Revenue and Customs and systems providers, you will be instrumental in providing payroll excellence.

What you’ll do day to day

* Proactively plan and prioritise workloads to make decisions around resourcing and work allocation to optimise the performance of your team

* Lead and motivate your team daily to deliver exceptional results for both customers and the business. You will drive performance management, ensuring the team remains focused on identifying opportunities for process and service improvements

* Delivery of accurate and timely payroll, through effective leadership, governance and controls along with collaboration across multiple teams and proactively managing stakeholders

* Management of payroll for ex-pats, executive directors, and non-executive directors, to include international tax and share plans

* Management of business and legislative changes that impact payroll working closely with other teams within the People Services Function

* Onboarding and offboarding activities in relation to M&A activity

* Ensure the team consistently delivers excellent customer experience for our colleagues, while maintaining the highest of standards of compliance and assurance

Helpful skills and qualifications

* Proven experience in payroll management, including handling complex payroll, executive compensation and share plans

* Strong understanding of the latest developments and emerging best practices in Payroll

* Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team

* Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, such as tax laws, labour laws, and regulations related to payroll and employee benefits

* A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in payroll processing and reporting

* A proactive, self-motivated approach, with a passion for delivering high standards while effectively managing tight deadlines
