Job Overview:
 
My client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Site Engineer to join their team on a significant highways infrastructure project in Penrith. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent civil engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the successful delivery of a major transport project.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
- Site Supervision: Assisting in supervising construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, designs, and standards.
 
- Setting Out: Carrying out site surveys and using various surveying equipment to set out and mark construction works in line with technical drawings.
 
- Quality Assurance: Monitoring quality standards on-site, ensuring that all works are completed in accordance with relevant specifications and regulations.
 
- Health & Safety: Promoting and ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, contributing to a safe working environment for all site personnel.
 
- Progress Reporting: Providing regular updates and reports on project progress, identifying potential delays or issues that may affect delivery.
 
- Technical Support: Assisting the project management team with technical queries, troubleshooting, and design changes, and liaising with design teams when necessary.
 
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate documentation, including daily logs, site records, and quality checklists.
 
- Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborating with subcontractors, clients, and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution and clear communication.
 
Skills & Experience Required:
 
- Not working on a graduate visa
- A full UK driving licence.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
 
Desirable Qualifications:
 
- CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain one).
- Previous internship or work experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
